FARCICAL RACE

In the Doncaster Cup Colorado Kid beat Nits-ichin by four lengths. The race was a farcical spectacle. There were only two starters, who covered the first mile and a half at almost a walking pace amid the jeers and catcalls of the spectators. Gordon Richards a ode Colorado Kid. Alf Beary, on Nits-chin, determined not to make the running, took a minute to cover a quarter of a mile and made no attempt to gallop until approaching the straight. Colorado Kid won by four lengths, the spectators booing. The time was 6min 4 l-16sec for two and a half miles.
This was Richards' fourth successive win to-day. He won the other events by a short head, a neck and a short head. He got no place in the fifth race, but won the last by a short head, making 184 wins for the season.
