ACCIDENTS & DEATHS.

MAORI CHILD DROWNED. (Per Press Association). RIOTORUA, September 15. A Maori child, Toi Woods, aged 2-} years, was drowned in a deep well in the vicinity of Ovvhata Point, Lake Rotorua, this morning. The child was missed about 8 a.m. and the body was found floating in tho well. Mr D. Golvin, who was in the vicinity, immediately pumped into the water and brought out the body. Life was then extinct., Mr Galvin's action was commended by the Coroner (Mr W. L. Richards) at an inquest this afternoon, when a verdict of accidental death was returned.
