MAYOR RECEIVES WRIT

ROTORUA SUBDIVISION CASE.

(Per Press Association)

ROTORUA, September 15

A writ claiming £IOO damages for alleged negligence in legalising a proposed subdivisiona] plan to-day was served upon the Mayor of Rotorua (Mr T. Jackson) on behalf of Albert George Cottrell.

Tho claimant alleged that although the necessary resolution had been passed by the Borough Council, it had wrongfully neglected to furnish the necessary information to the Public Works Department over a period of five months, with the result that the plaintiff lost a sale of the land, and suffered damage. The matter was recently discussed at some length by the council in committee, and had been set down for hearing at the next sitting of the Supreme Court at Hamilton.
