TENNIS.

THE TINWALD CLUB. The annual meeting of the Tinwaid Tennis Club was held in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening, Mr A. Watson presiding over a fair attendance. The annual report stated that last season had been a most enjoyable one. The balance-sheet showed a

credit balance of over £6, which would be more than sufficient to discharge the remaining debts on the new court.

The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Tne meeting decided that the subscription should remain the same as for last season, ail subscriptions to be payable by December 2. The following officers were elected: —President, Mr W. Bryant; vicepresidents, Messrs A. Watson, T. Lewitt, H. B. Millichamp, and T. TarboLton; captain, Mr P. Frew; vice-captain, Mrs J. Wilkinson; secretary and treasurer, Miss C. Houston; committee, Mrs \V. Merrin, xUisses C. Hewson and B. Bell, Messrs W. Merrin, K. Hulme, J. Samuels, and S. Watson; match committee, captain, vice-captain, and Mr W. Merrin.

It was reported that the courts had been top-dressed in readiness for play. The meeting decided that the season should open on September 30, and that the committee should purchase new nets for that day, when a Yankee tournament will be held.
