THE ST. LEGER. HYPERION WINS EASILY. (United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 13. The St. Leger resulted: — Hyperion 3 Felicitation ■ 2 Scarlet Tiger 3 Fourteen started. Won by three lengths; third horse a neck away. The St. Leger proved a one-horse race, Hyperion winning easily. The much-boomed Thor never got near him and the others never mattered. His jockey. "Weston, merely had to sit still while" the colt bowled along with delightful action. Weston also rode Hyperion in the Derby. He now holds the record of 10 classic wins compared with Ohilds' nine. This was Lord Derby's fifth victory in the St. Leger, and was immensely popular. Breaking his rule of not talking after a success, the Earl said he was glad that it was all over. "There has been talk of slimming cures, but the St. Leger, when your horse is favourite, slims you more quickly than all treatments' and is not so expensive/' he said. i
