AGRICULTURAL SHOW
THE MAYFIELD ASSOCIATION. COMMITTEE APPOINTED. The Mayfield Agricultural and Pastoral Association met on Monday evening, Mr G. Johnstone presiding over a large attendance. Motions of sympathy were passed to Ml- and Mrs W. J. Kingan, Mr and Mrs Blair and Mrs Maclean Murdoch in their recent bereavements. Letters are to be sent to Messrs Fleming and McCormick sympathising with them in their illnesses. Mr J. Blair reported that the subcommittee had. selected a draught stallion, Bridgebank Diamond, from Mr Wilson, of Dunedin, to travel the district. Members were invited to support the effort in view of selecting horses for other years.
The New Zealand Railways wrote notifying that during the slack season the Mount Somers railway service would be reduced to twice weekly. Mr H. C. B. Witholl wrote accepting the position of patron. The show date for 1934 was fixed for Saturday, March 17. The following sub-committees wore elected:—

Blair) are to be ex officio members of all committee.?. An application by the Women's Christian Temperance Union for the use of the produce shed for the flower show was agreed to. The immediate past-president (Mr G. B. Murdoch) presented the committee with an enlarged photograph of himself to be hung in the meeting room. The photograph was accepted by the president on behalf of the Association, and hung beside that of the first president of the Association, Mr D. Duff.
