WELLINGTON RACING CLUB PROFIT OF £297 FOR YEAR. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. At the annual meeting of the Wellington Racing Club, .the president (Mr E. L. Riddiford) said that the year had resulted in a profit of £297' after allowing £2500 for depreciation. Owners had been hard hit and falling stakes had not been balanced by any l’eal decline in the cost of racing. Owners had continued nominating and racing horses in a manner that was a .tribute to their enthusiasm. During the year £25,217~ had been paid to the Government in taxation. Mr Riddiford was re-elected president, and Mr J. \Y. Abbott vice-presi-dent.
