BYRD’S EXPEDITION PLANS. TWO SHIPS DUE IN NOVEMBER. (Per Press Association). DUNEDIN, This Day. Advice from Admiral Byrd states that the Antarctic expedition ships Pacific Fir and Bear of Oakland will leave Boston on Alonday, September 25, for Dunedin. Ono hundred dogs will, be carried on the Pacific Fir, which will act as supply ship and remain north of the ice-pack. The Bear of Oakland will carry supplies from her through Ross Sea to the base at Little America. The ships will reach Dunedin early in November.
