STATE ASSISTANCE.

WELLINGTON AERO CLUB. (Per Press Association). “WELLINGTON, Sept, 11. “Excluding two tragic crashes‘which occurred during the year, the club’s operations 'have resulted in a loss of £97 10s, after having written off £583 10s for depreciation of plant and equipment,” states the annual report of the Wellington Aero Club. “Adding the direct cost of the crashes the total loss for the year is £047 10s,” states the report. “These figures indicate clearly the impossibility of aero c]ubs carrying on without adequate Government assistance—assistance that clubs have every right to expect in view of the promises made by the Government when the clubs were in • the process of formation.”
