WOMAN'S BEQUEST.

COURT UPHOLDS WILL. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, August 29. Mr Justice Reed, in a Supreme Court judgment, held that bequests in the will of Minnie Elizabeth Simmonds, late of Thames, of £4OO to the wounded and disabled soldiers of New Zealand, and £IOO to a home for wounded sailors of the British Empire, were charitable gifts within the meaning of the statutes. He directed the Public Trustee, as present trustee of the will, to submit a scheme for disposition and submit such scheme for the approval of the Attorney-General.
