TIMBER FROM RUSSIA.

IMPORTS INTO BRITAIN. REPRESENTATIONS BY CANADA (United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Dav 12 noon). LONDON, August 29. A special meeting of Cabinet has been convened for September 5, for which Mr MacDonald will return from Lossiemoi\th. It is believed that the meeting is being held, in connection with Mr Bennett's invocation of article 21 of the Anglo-Canadian agreement signed at Ottawa covering a tribunal to investigate the grievance of Canada over Britain's imports of Russian timber. This article was inserted at Mr Bennett's request and was aimed at the Soviet's allegedly slave-produced timber, the importation of which it was desired should be reduced by half.
