RECONCILIATION WITH ENGLAND
(United Press Association—Copyright; LONDON, August 29.
General O'Dpffy, leader of the National Guard, which Mr de Valera's Free State Government has declared an illegal organisation, has returned to Dublin in connection with the movement toward the federation of all Opposition parties under his leadership. Tlie correspondent of the "Telegraph" learns definitely that all obstacles to fusion have been removed, but official announcements are not expected for a while.
The Cosgrave party will lose its distinctive but clumsy Irish title and will join forces' with the Centre Party, and the National Guard under the title of the National Party, all accepting General O'Duffy's leadership. It is expected that Independents and others will join, thus presenting a united front, the gr-eat aim of which is to secure reconciliation with England before the havoc of the economic war becomes irretrievable.
