THE DOMINION TOURNAMENT. ASHBURTON BEATS WANCANUI. (Per Press Association). DANNEVIRKE, This Day. The weather at noon was overcast but fine, after rain during the night, for the continuance of the New Zealand championship hockey tournament. The grounds promise to be heavy for the conclusion of sectional play this afternoon. Canterbury and Southland are level, with eight points each, in 'Section A; Otago must beat or draw with Wellington to-day to win Section B; while Eastern has to win to-day's game against Wairarapa to lead in Section C. This morning Ashburton defeated AVanganui by two to one. The scorers for the winners were Misses J. Ross and J. Brown, and for the losers Miss I. Duncan.
