THE ASHBURTON CLUB. The following will play for Ashburton against Timani, at Ashburton, next Saturday:— * J. T/Smith, W. P. Anderson, R. B. Lambert, W. Hedges, E. A. Cockroft, W. J. Minogue, V. W. The stroke competition played by the Rakaia Golf Club was won by H. A. Harrison, with a card of 101—22—79, and he has again been reduced in handicap. The second round of the James F. O'Reilly Trophy resulted as follows: — P. J. Hanrahan beat T. A. Richards, H. A. Harrison beat W. L. Harrison, H. A. Smith beat C. C. Holmes, P. Alexander, who tied with L. 0. Oakley, won on the count back for the last nine holes. The following is the draw for the August medal, to be played on Saturday, beginning at 1.30 p.m.: —H. A. Harrison v. J. J. Hanrahan, 3?. Alexander v. H. A. Smith, T. A. Richards v. L. O. Oakley, W. L. Harrison v. C. C. Holmes, J. S. Connolly v. R. A. Oakley, J. Langley v. L. Cordner, A. G. Holmes r. A. R. Wilkinson, T. Connolly v. scorer. These scores will also count for second qualifying round of club championship and third round of the O'Reilly Trophy. During the week-end, a team from Hagley Club played the local club on the Acton links.
