THE WEATHER.
ANOTHER MILD DAY- ( Conditions prevailing in Ashburton during the past week herald the rapid approach of spring. To-day was no exception. The sun shone in a blue skj with scattered clouds and the temperature was fairly mild, with a light northerly breeze blowing. A frost of ou'.V 2.6* degrees intensity was registered at the Domain weather station this morning. i A , i i The barometric pressure at 9 o clock this morning was 29.72 inches, compared with.29.6S inches yesterday morning. Extremes of shade temperature yesterday and last night were 59.8 degrees and 32.5 degrees, while those on Alonday were 55 degrees and 37 degrees. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Aleteorologist, at noon to-day, issued .the following statement regarding the weather:— General inference: Pressure is high to the north of New Zealand, while to •.the southward a series of shallow westerly depressions continue to pass. fho forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamnru is as follows: Aloderato to fresh north to west winds hacking in places to south-westerly tomorrow. Weather: Fair and mild, hut some showers .probable later along the coast cf South Canterbury. Seas: Moderate.
