ENGLISH TENNIS TEAM
VISIT TO AUSTRALIA. PROBABLE PERSONNEL. LONDON, July 18. The English Lawn Tennis Association has accepted the invitation to send a team to Australia in the 1933-34 season. Before the composition of the team can be announced it will be necessary to canvass the players visiting America to see whether they can continue their journey to Australia. As they have already expressed eagerness to go, this is a mere formality and it is believed that the team will consist of Perry, Hughes, Lee and Wilde. Mr 11. S. Youdale attended the association's meeting where Mr H. Roper Barrett, the non-playing captain of the English team, is believed to have pleaded that an Australian tour would fatigue the team. It was added by Mr Youdale that England could not expect the visits o! ; Australian champions from Norman Brooks onwards, to continue if they were not reciprocated. Mr Youdale's speech resulted in an overwhelming vote in favour of the tour.
