GAOL FOR STOWAWAY.

DEPORTATION TO FOLLOW. (Per Press Association). NEW PLYMOUTH, August 3. "I don't want to go to England, I want to go to Australia," said Edward Hewitt, aged 52, a native of Cheshire, and a stowaway on the Matakana, who was sentenced by Mr Woodward, S.M., to three weeks' imprisonment, and ordered to be placed aboard the first ship belonging to the same company, leaving for England. Hewitt hid himself among coal in the bridge space, when the Matakana was at Cannes on July 27. He gave himself up next day at sea, and arrived at New Plymouth this morning.
