WEALTHY SUICIDE.
HERMIT AT COROMANDEU (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, June 10. Evidence of unexpected wealth was discovered by the police when they examined the body of Charles Lynn Had Held, aged 49 years, who was found in his shack at Coromandel recently with a, wound in the throat. Deceased, who had settled in Coromandel two years and a half previously, had lived by himself and had few friends. He had previously lived at Whangaroa. The. body was found by a neighbour, who informed the police. Deceased had a razor in his hand and two others were on a chair beside him. When the police examined the body they found, in a small linen bag hung about the neck by. a string, a receipt for £6OO in New Zealand Government bonds, a Post 'Office Savings Bank book showing a credit' of nearly £SOO, several £1 "notes and a tobacco tin containing two half-sovereigns wrapped in paper. A receipt for 10s from a solicitor for forwarding a will was also found. An inquest was- held by the Coroner. Ho found that deceased died from a self-inflicted razor wound.
