WINTER SHOW.
OPENING TO-MORROW AFTERNOON.
i MANY EXCELLENT EXHIBITS
A large total of entries has been received by the Ashburton Fanciers’ Society for the annual winter show, which will be conducted in premises in Tancred Street to-morrow and on Friday and the Society anticipates that the exhibition, will be more than usually attractive. Entries total 1139, a larger figure than for many years past, and? the quality of the exhibits that will he displayed will be equal to anything seen at previous shows. The winter show section has brought 640 entries, compared with 560 last year. Poultry shows a decline of five on the 1932 figures, being 330, while dogs have declined from 144 last year to 88 this year. The increased interest being taken in rabbit breeding and rearing is shown in the fact that entries in this section have advanced from 29 last year to 42 this year. Patrons of the show will see a great variety of fur-bearing rabbits. Cats have increased by eight to 39. These sections will be shown on Friday.
