MAJESTIC THEATRE Every advantage has been taken of the .twists and turns of the mystery in Edgar Wallace’s “Whiteface,” made by Gainsborough, and showing finally at the Majestic Theatre to-night. A hold-up crook, who wears a white mask when raiding restaurants and relieving women of their jewels, works so rapidly and mysteriously that Scotland Yard is puzzled. An inexplicable murder is committed at Tidal Basin, and during their investigations one of the police is assaulted by “Whiteface,”'. which seems to definitely connect him with the murder. Gordon Harker takes, the leading role in this production. “Lord Babs,” the production of which directly followed that of \ “Sunshine Susie” on the Gainsborough set, is a screen version of the successful farce of the same name written by Keble Howard, and originally staged for a long run at the Vaudeville Theatre, London. The dialogue has been revised for screen purposes and new lyrics haye been written by Clifford Grey and it attracted great interest at the Majestic Theatre last evening. Some very clever comedy is seen in this picture.
