ASHBURTON CLUB'S TRIAL The annual reliability trial of the Ashburton Motor-Cycle 'Club was held yesterday, only tour competitors took part. The. course, was over a distance of 183 miles, via Marcnan. Geraldine, Fairlie, Burke's Pass and thence to Mackenzie Pass, where four inches of snow were encountered, and a sheep track was followed for 10 miles. The route then continued through Albury, Hanging Rock, to Geraldine and back to Ashburton via Hinds. The Mackenzie Pass proved a severe
test for the'competitors, three of whom got off the track at Cave. Two completed the correct route, T. Pickford (8.5. A.) was first, with 935 points out of a possible 1000, and R. Amos (8.5. A.) was second with. 510 points. G. Field and A. J. Thompson were the other two competitors.
