CHRISTCHURCH, This Day

A house in Dallington, occupied by Mr C. Watson and family, was struck and set afire by lightning during the height of a storm bn Tuesday evening. The occupants were in bed at the time.

The front- windows were blown out. Lightning set afire a bolster on the bed where Mr and Mrs Watson .were sleeping. They had a terrifying experience, but their daughter obtained the help of two linesmen who were working at a sub-station nearby. The linesmen put. the fire out. The switch-gear at the sub-station was also damaged.
