WHO “RATTED?”

SHARE OF ART UNION. DR. NORTH’S INVITATION TO MINISTER. (Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, May % Referring to the question of tlie m e of proceeds from art unions, Dr. J. J. North (president of the Auckland Council of Christian Congregations), writes: — ‘•The Hon. J. A. Young, in a message dated May 1, refers to a deputation of the Auckland Council of Christian Congregations which waited upon him recently. He says he has received lottery applications from churches represented by tlie deputation. “The deputation consisted, inter alia, of the Primate of New Zealand, the Moderator of .the Presbyterian Church, officials of tlie Methodist and Baptist Churches and others. The action of tlie Primate is in exact accord with the eager actions of the Archbishops of Canterbury and York. The action of the Moderator agrees with the action of his colleagues in Scotland and Ireland. The same thing is true of the other Churches. “The public is entitled to know what churches have ratted on their leaders, what churches have taken their policy from Dublin and from Lang. I liereoy invite Air Young, to publish thennames. Until lie does so lie has east a slur on the sincerity of the deputation and cn the good name of Hie Churches concerned throughout the Dominion.”
