Air and Airs A. Iv. Callaghan, of Wills Street, have returned to Ashburton after a holiday trip to Australia. Air H. E. Holland, ALP. (Leader of the Opposition) arrived in Ashburton by the express train from the south. He Avill leave in .the evening for AletliA’eii, Avhere he is to deliver an address. Air H. C. B. Withell Avill represent the Ashburton County Council at a meeting of the District Highways Council at Timaru to-morroAV. The County Engineer (Air A. A. Fooks) will also attend. Air J. Corbett, cashier at the Ashburton branch of the Ncav Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Ltd., lias been transferred on promotion to the Christchurch branch and will leave Ashburton on Saturday Aveek.
