HEAVY DAMAGE

FARMS AND MARKET GARDENS.

FLOODS IN NEW SOUTH WALES. HEROIC RESCUE FROM DROWNING. (United Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Thousands of pounds worth of damage to faims and market gardens was done by the worst floods in the Windsor district for years. About LO,PuO acres under cultivation are now submerged to a dength of from two to three feet. A sheet of water half a mile wide and four or five feet deep has blocked all traffic on the SydneyWindsor road. It is certain .that the cessation of rain on Thursday night, saved the district from a disastrous flood. Two men who had been washed off East Creek bridge, near Riverstone, were pluckily rescued by Mr Jack Huntingford, who had warned the men not to attempt the crossing. The police have made a report to the Royal Humane Society proposing that Mr Huntingford be fittingly rewarded for his heroic deed.
