THE AIR DISASTER.
SENSATIONAL STATEMENT MADE. VOSS'S FINANCIAL TROUBLES. (United Press Association—Copyright). LONDON, April 4. The full statement of the Salford Coroner relating to the death of Voss, of Manchester, .a victim of the disaster to the air-liner City of Liverpool at Dixmude, shows that Scotland Yard communicated with the Salford police in consequence of information received from Imperial Airways. The Coroner stated that the fire broke out near where Voss sat. He must have flung himself from the aero--1 plane immediately. The fingers of Voss's left hand were badly burned. He :was insured for £SOO for the flight, besides other policies. Voss was undoubtedly financially embarrassed and was wanted by the police for alleged embezzlement in Germany. It is now questioned whether the schoolgirl who was also a victim of the disaster, and has hitherto been described as Voss's niece, was any relatibn. SOME EXCITABLE THREATS. INQUIRY AT THE INQUEST. (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) LONDON, April 4. " I shall inquire whether Voss took poison aboard the air-liner and whether he became strange and set fire to the air-liner," said the Coroner at the inquest at Salford. Hugo Voss, son of deceased, in evidence, said that his father was an undischarged bankrupt. He sometimes excitably threatened to commit suicide in such a fashion that the family regarded it as a joke. Voss added: "I am sure father never did a dastardly thing like firing the air-liner." The inquest was adjourned till April 27.
