All meals that cost over 50 cents in public eating places in British Columbia are to bo taxed 5 per cent, to support hospitals. FUNDS FROM SWEEPSTAKES SENATE PASSES THE BILL, (Received This Day, 12.35 --.m.) OTTAWA. Ap*il 4, The Senate passed the Sweepstakes Bill, permitting each Province to hold one drawing for the benefit of hospitals annually. The fate cs..the measure in the House of Commons is problematical.
