Whin- to the large number of streets converging in Trafalgar Square ami the fact that it is traversed by about 6UUU vehicles daily, the new system is the most ambitious yet undertaken. A unique feature of the new system is that the traffic actually controls itselt according to its need, by means oLdetectors laid in the roadway. The system Avill replace 16 noint-duty police.
