M.C.C. TEAM FAREWELLEO. CORDIAL GATHERING AT SYDNEY. SYDNEY, March 16. At a farewell gathering to the English cricketers by the New South Wales Cricket Association, Mr P. F. Warner and Mr L. H. Palairet, joint managers, and the captain, D. R.' Jardine, were handed souvenirs of their visit in the shape of large cigarette boxes made of Australian polished wood, adorned with appropriate emblems. Jardine, in a happy speech of acknowledgment, said that he regarded the gifts more as a tribute to the great side he had been privileged to lead than as a personal compliment. land had always been most welcome, he said. The team had a cordial send-off by the liner Maunganui, which sail 3d tl is afternoon for Wellington. The matches to be played in New Zealand are as follow: March 21.—v. Wellington, at Wellington. March 24, 25, and 27—v. New Italand, af. Christchurch. April 1,3, and 4—v. New Zcaiar.d, at Auckland. M.C.C. v. WELLINGTON WELLINGTON, March 16. Play in the match M.C.C. v. Wellington on Tuesday and Wednesday will be from 11.30 a.m. till 6 p.m. Adjournments will be taken from 1.15 p.m. to 2 p.m. and from 3.45. p.m. till 4 p.m.
