Two unknown men posing as detectives entered the house of the Swedish Consul-General (Dr. Manner) at Stuttgart and beat him unconscious with heavy instruments, causing concussion. , Relations between Sweden and Germany have recently been strained owing to the Swedish Press criticising the Nazis. A PLOT REVEALED. RAISING TROUBLE WITH FRANCE ;- BERLIN, March 16. There was a dramatic scene at Karlsruhe when Herr Wagner, the Hitlerite Commissioner of Baden, addressing a large gathering in the main square, as well as the whole of Bavaria through the mbcrophone, said a plot had been discovered for an outrage on the French Consulate at Karlsruhe. ~. Herr Wagner said the plot was to have been perpetrated by the Socialists, but it would have been laid to the charge of the Hitlerites, with the object of causing diplomatic strife and possibly war between France and Germany. "The two 'traitors concerned have already been discovered,' said Herr Wagner, "and will be publicly executed in this very square." The crowd shouted its approval. The five Nazis who were sentenced to death in August for the murder of a Communist named Pieutzueh, at Zotempa, and were afterwards reprieved, have been released under orders from Herr Hitler. Their crime was committed a few hours after President Hindenburg's emergency decree prescribing the death penalty for terrorists. DR. LUTHER RESIGNS. SUCCEEDED BY DR. SCHACHT. Though it is generally understood that they will be excluded if they attempted to attend, 121 Socialist Deputies decided to boycott the opening of the Reichstag on Tuesday.
