It is expected that the Mount Everest air expedition will start on Friday from Karachi, where the two Westland Wapiti aeroplanes, brought from England, are being assembled. AN ALTITUDE TEST. Mr Maclntyre, of the Everest flying expedition, accompanied by the chief cinematographer (Mr Bonnet) made altitude tests in the TVestland-V allace ’plane and reached 34,000 ft in 90 minMr Bonnet experimented in photography with his head outside the cockpit and quickly found that conditions were impossible. The wind penetrated his oxygen mask, dispersing the oxygen and making him feel ill. The temperature was minus 45 degrees.
