NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS THE COMBINED DOUBLES " MASTERTON, January 26. The North Island lawn tennis championships were concluded to-day in perfect weather. In the final of the combined doubles Miss Howeil and 11. A: Court <Hawke's Bay) beat Miss Haggitt and D. I. Robertson (Manawatu), 6-2, 6-3.

E. D. ANDREWS'S PLANS. WILL PLAY AMERICANS. WELLINGTON, January 26. ■ The secretary of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, Mr D. Murray Kean, stated to-day that the management committee had approached E. D. Andrews, the New Zealand singles champion, and that Mr Andrews had agreed to rearrange his plans so that he might appear im Wellington against the American tennis team on February 8. Further, Mr Andrews had stated that he would endeavour so to change his plans that he would be able to play against the Americans in Auckland on February 11. Mr Andrews had originally intended to leave for England this week.

The other members of the New Zealand team will be announced later.
