WEDDINGS IN LONDON.

FEWER CANCELLATIONS. Cupid is taking plans for marriage in London much more seriously. The wave of cancellation of weddings has greatly diminished. During the last year only 1200 ceremonies, either by license or certificate, were cancelled in London register offices, compared with nearly 7000 in the previous year. "There is no doubt that'persons to-day, when arranging for their marriage, mean to go through the ceremonv," a West End registrar said. "Fickle brides and bridegrooms were a nuisance a year oi' so ago. On© could never be certain that they would turn up. Likewise, the last year has been remarkable for the. fact that the Registrar-General has not had to_ issue a single caveat forbidding a marriage. In past years caveats came along at the rate of one a month."
