AUSTRALIAN TEAM FOR TEST. ENGLISH PRESS COMMENT. (Received This Day, 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, December 9. Critics generally praise the coolness of the Australian selectors of the Test team. The "Evening News" says: "Probably the last has been seen of Kippax, and Grimmett may be given a rest, as the batsmen temporarily have the better of him."
AUSTRALIANS' COMMENT. (Received This Day, 10.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Writing in the "Daily Telegraph," Mailey says: "We must have a good side if we can afford to drop Kippax. It seems a pity to call back Ironmonger and Oxenham. Then we have Fleetwood-Smith and Bird, Both young players of promise." The "Herald's" cricket writer says: "It would have required some imagination on the part of the selectors to have included Fleetwood-Smith, but more imagination may be required before the series is completed, with solid Englishmen apparently not greatly worried by the mechanically accurate bowling thev are called upon to face. The unorthocloxy of FleetwoodSmith may vet prove valuable to Australia."
