ROSE SHOW

METHODIST CHURCH EFFORT. BARING SQUARE HALL DISPLAY. ANNUAL EXHIBITION OF BLOOMS There Avas a fine exhibition of roses, sweet peas and other flowers in the Baring Square Methodist Schoolroom this afternoon on the occasion of the flower show organised in aid of the trust funds by the church trustees. The entries were good and the standard of blooms was high. Messrs A. Clark (Ashburton) and G. A. Clark (Tinwald) staged a fine display of roses on exhibition only. General arrangements were well carried out by the Executive Committee (Messrs W. H. Robinson, W. H. Higgins and A. P. Warriner). The home industry and needlework sections of the schedule were also well patronised. The Mayor (Mr W. H. Woods) officially opened the show, and congratulated the church officials on their fine effort.

The judges of the various classes were:—Flowers, Messrs G. and A. Clark ; needlework, Mr H. *\. Humphreys; home industries, Mr R. H. Walker.

A number of stalls were set up and were conducted by the following:— Flowers, Mr A. P. Warriner; home industries, Messrs W. K. Waters and C. F. Horrill; needlework, Messrs H. Kelly and C. H.
