Mr Fritz Hart, of the Melbourne Conservatorium, is a passenger on the Aorangi for Honolulu. He will arrange in Auckland the preliminaries in connection with singing scholarships under a bequest of Dame Nellie Melba. For these scholarships pupils from the Australian States and New Zealand are eligible, and the first awards wdl Ic made early next year. There are two scholarships of three years and five of one year. It is provided that they shall be renewable for further terms.
