TINWALD STOCK MARKET.
THE CONCLUDING SALES. Several sales of stock were made at 'the TinwaFd yards yesterday afternoon after the "Guardian" went to press. Prices were well, maintained. Concluding sales were:—
Ewes—Seven at 14s, 4 at 13s, 4 at 12s Id, 1 at Is lOd, 10 at lis 4d, 8 at 10s lOd, 7 at lis Id, 6 at 10s Id, 7 at 10s Id, 6 at 10s lOd, 5 at 10s sd, 3 at 10s Id, 6 at lis 4d, 4 at 12s 2d, 2 at 10s 7d. Shorn Ewes—Fourteen at 7s 6d, 9 at 7s 7d ; 13 at 5s lOd, 10 at 7s, 6 at 7s lid, 10 at 9s Id, 2 at 8s Id, 8 at 3s lOd, 7 at 3s lOd, 13 at 6s Id, 7 at 7s lOcl, 6 at 8s 4d. Wethers—Ten at 14s 4d, sat 14s lOd, 5 at 13s lOd. Store Sheep— ewes and lambs at 7s 3d, 28 ewes and lambs at 6s 3d.
GRAIN AND PRODUCE. CHRISTCHURCH MARKETS. (Special to the "Guardian.") CHRISTCHUjrea, This Day. The Labour Day holiday kept the grain and produce markets quiet, as there has been little business since Friday. There was no change yesterday in the potato market, which is very quiet indeed. The demand for Dakotas and Suttons from Wellington keeps up, and there is evidence of a demand for whites from coastal ports. Auckland is making few inquiries. The rain of tho past .icw days has held up deliveries, but this is not likely to have much effect on the market as Auckland seems to have enough to go on with. The other markets are quiet.
The following are prices to be paid to farmers on trucks at country stations unless otherwise mentioned:—
Wheat—Tuscan 4s 10ld, Hunters 5s 4|d, Pearl 5s 2£d, f.0.b., for October delivery. Fowl Wheat—Prompt, 5s Id, f.o.b. Oats—G-artons, A grade 3s, B 2s lOd, Algerians 3s to 3s 3d. Chaff—£3 12s 6d a ton. Ryegrass—Perennial 4s to 4s 3d ; Italian and Western Wolths 3s 9d to 4s. Cocksfoot—Plains, 4d to od; Akaroa 6d to 6*d. Peas—ss to 5s 6d. Potatoes—Prompt, £4 15s to £4 17s 6d a ton, on trucks; Dakotas, £5 5s a ton, on trucks. Bran—£4 a ton for shipping, £4 10s a ton local. Pollard—£s a ton for shipping, £6 JOs a ten local. v Flotir—£17 12s a ton, with the usual increments for smaller packings.
AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, October 25. Wholesale current prices, through store, are as follow: Pollard and Bran —Mill prices': Pollard, £6 10s per ton; bran, £5 10s per ton. ■ Merchants' prices: Pollard, £7 per ton; bran, £6. Oats—Feed: B Gar tons, 4s 3d per bushel; A Gartons, 4s 8d; clipped Duns, ss; clipped Algerians, Australian, ss; New Zealand, 5s 9d; clipped Gartons 4s 9d. Fowl Wheat—Australian, 6s 2d per bushel; under grade New Zealand, 5s 6d up. Maize—African, 5s 9d; Bay of Plenty, 5s 3d; crushed, 5s per bushel (501b)'. Barley—Feed: Clipped, 4s 3d per bushel. Seed: Cape, 6s per bushel. Maize Meal—los per 1001 b. Barley Meal—9s per 1001 b. ' Chaff—G.b.o.s., £ 10s per ton, Blenheim or Canterbury. Potatoes—Table: Southern, £8 10s per ton. Seed: Gamekeeper, Northern Star, Arran Chief, 7s 6d per cwt; Up-to-Dates, 9s; Dakotas. 9s; Sutton's Supreme, 10s 6d ; Maori Chief. 10s. Onions—Canadian, 22s 6d, bags and crates.
PRICES OF WHEAT fN BRITAIN. LONDON, October 24. Wheat cargoes are steadier, following the depreciation of sterling. Sellers are asking 3d extra, but buyers are apathetic. The Columbia cargo sold at 26s 3d bagged and 26s bulk. - Parcels are firm and Manitobas have 3d to 6d advantage. Australians are rather dearer with fair business at the higher, prices. Parcels ex Demodocus and Neckar brought 26s 9d. South Australian, October delivery, was sold to Hull at 26s 9d net and Australian on passage also sold at 26s 9d. Futures are quoted: London: December 23s lOd per quarter, February 23s 3d, April 23s sd. Liverpool: December 5s 4|d per cental, March 5s 2 7-Bd.
