MAJESTIC THEATRE. i » The British Dominions Films production, “Splinters in the Navy” will have its final screening i to-night. “Splinters” marked the first appearance of Sydney Howard, the frozenfaced” comedian, who, to-day, is recognised as one of the most brilliant comedians in the world. Patrons thought him funny in this production, but in the new comedy he is twice as good, according to most critics. All the celebrated “Splinters” characters appear in this nautical burlesque. Reg Stone,, female impersonator, Hal Jones and the most important of all, the world-famed “Beauty Chorus, will bring hack fond memories of their first appearanc in “Splinters.” A most hilarious story runs through the piece a highlight being Howard’s fight for the championship of .the Navy, the challenge for which has been issued at the instigation of a maiden ashore. There is a programme of good supporting films to round off the hill of fare. “SHIP AHOY” COMPANY. Both New Zealand and;, overseas talent has been collected for tne “Ship Ahoy” Company, which will play Ashburton on Saturday afternoon and evening. “Ship Ahoy” will appeal to all as a mile a minute entertainment, effervescing with movement and melody, from the rise of the curtain to the anal rally. The speciality artists include two Adagio dancers, Paula and Seegins Lebkhoff, also the Chinese misticists Chan Ken Choy and Sin Chan Lin. The action of the dialogue is fast throughout. Box plans are at The Bristol. RELIEF FUND BENEFIT DANCE A novelty dance in aid of the Mayor’s Relief Fund will be held in His Majesty’s Theatre to-morrow evening, when it is anticipated: there will be a good attendance. Music will be supplied by the Kit Kat Band and supper will he' provided in the Tailored Street Hall.
