TILL ROBBED.

THIEF FORCED TO DISGORGE. (Special to tlip "Guardian.") WELLINGTON, August 1. A woman in charge of a fruit and confectionery shop in Cambridge Terrace, hearing a noise in the shop, stepped from a room and saw a man raiding the till. Finding that he was discovered, he made for the door, the woman screaming loudly. Her cries drew a large crowd and some left trams to satisfy their curiosity. The first passer-by who heard the screams met a man hastily making his exit and prevented him from leaving. The thief was taken back into the shop and, at the instigation of the shopkeeper, was searched and forced to hand over a sum of money. Then with the greatest nonchalance he pushed his way through and leisurely strolled up the street.
