RECOGNITION OF MARRIAGE. SERIOUS CONFLICT IN SPAIN. United Press Association—Copyright) MADRID, July 31. In response to a Government decree recognising only civil marriages, Archbishop Eijo of Madrid has broadcast a decree that such marriages mean living in sin, that the offspring of them are canonically illegitimate, and that people civilly married are not eligible for God-parentship or burial in consecrated ground. FIRST DIVORCE ACTION. MADRID, July 31. The first divorce action ever heard in Madrid is the petition of Senor Alba, an ex-Cabinet Minister.
