touring the Seddon Shield districts in August, playing matches on August 6, 10, and 13. On July 30 they would be playing South Canterbury, and on July 23 they would play their annual Town v. The Borough 'Traffic Inspector (Mr J. R. Richardson) wrote regarding the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, reminding the Union that the practice of carowners of taking footballers to the field of play and receiving a share of the expenses for reward was a breach of the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, and the Motor Vehicles Insurance (Third Party Risks) Act, 1928. The Union was asked to notify clubs accordingly. The writer pointed rout that at. Napier recently a man had been fined £1 and 10s costs for the practice. Varcoe, who had been suspended for two playing Saturdays, had played last Saturday. As it had been an oversight on the part of the president in allowing him to play it was decided to adhere to the original decision.
