REQUEST TO HOSPITAL BOARDS. (Per Press Association). AVELLINGTON, June 9. Sir Donald AlcGavin, Dr. Duncan AI Stout and Dr. AVylie, of Palmerston North, representing .the Australian Royal College Surgeons addressed the Hospital Boards Conference to-day with reference to facilities being given for the training in public hospitals of the younger practitioners °A large proportion of the surgical work in the community was earned out, they said, in general hospitals. The College of Surgeons was of the opinion that the appointment of surgeons by hospital boards should be made oh the recommendation of the Aledical Committee. It was pleasing to note that this system was being adopted in New Zealand, and that the majority of hospital boards now sought such advice. It was _ uiged that, wherever possible, all major surgery should be carried out m one of the larger hospitals.
