SCARCITY OF FEED.

GRAZING IN WAIRARAPA. (Special to the “ Guardian. s> ) WAIPUKURAU, April 2. Last year, when Central Hawke’s Bay was practically devoid of grass owing to the continued drought, large numbers of graziers and dairymen were compelled to send their herds to other districts for grazing. Wairarapa accepted most of the stock as feed was plentiful there owing to the favourable season. This year the position is reversed, and cattle in increasing quantities are coming from the Wairarapa for grazing for the winter months. Although the recent rains may help to tide oyer Wairarapa farmers, feed is very short and one Greytown dairyman stated he had been feeding his cows on apples for fix weeks. ] I i in ■ii ;■
