Tardieu’s plan for the rehabilitation of the Danubian States includes the establishment of tariff preferences between them by a reduction of 10 per cent in tariffs, also revision of the financial obligations which are now beyond the resources of the Danubian States. . The scheme envisages various Governments taking part in the Danubian loan of £10,000,000 taking the responsibility out of the experts’ hands. M. TARDIEU OPTIMISTIC. LONDON, April 6. “You may see me again soon, was M. Tardieu’s parting words on leaving London, after his conversations with members of the United Kingdom Government. Diplomatic correspondents believe that an understanding was reached which will so facilitate the woik of the Four-Power Conference that it, may complete its labours within 86 hours.
It is learned that tariffs between Franco and Britain were among the many subjects discussed. The French correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says that M. Tmdieu departed with a decidedly optimistic- impression.
