DOMINION TOURNAMENT. THE RINKS' MATCHES STARTED. (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Tlie most important section ot tho Dominion bowling tournament —the rinks championship—was commenced on 10 city and suburban greens to-day . One hundred and two rinks from all pi\,rts competed. They have been divided into 10 sections, and two games will be played each davi for four days. Rain wilieh set in’ just after nlay finished last evening improved the greens greatly. This morning was fine, with a slight south-west wind. _ In the first game to-day the Dunedin rink, skipped bv Deare, who won the rinks championship at Auckland last year, was defeated by a Roslyn rink "(Armstrong) 27 to 20. Deare’s rink was not exactly the same as that ot last year, as Morrison replaced J. D. Best, who had formerly been lead.
