She was charged with shooting her husband, who owned a chain of theatres in America. She pleaded selfdefence on tne grounds of her husband's cruelty, and was acquitted. She received a. tremendous ovation outside the Court. It was revealed,that she married her husband three times. When first they were married: she discovered that he was a bigamist and divorced him, but they re-married. The pair were divorced a few months later, and married for the third time two years ago.
