At Omaha, Nebraska, a noted aviator, Charles "Speed" Holnian, was killed during the local air races when his 'plane, in which he was flying upside down at nearly 300 miles an hour, went into a power dive and crashed to earth. It barely missed a crowd of onlookers. Holnian was widely known as a daring, trick pilot.
