The Hon. S. Ct. Smith, who is i» New Plymouth, has accepted an invi : tation to take paa-t in the jHauraki by-election campaign.
The Hon. E. A. Ransom will leave Wellington for the north to-morrow evening to take part in the Hauraki by-election campaign.
The Hon. A. J. Murdoch Left Wellington for Whakatane last evening to open tfhe show there. It is rjrobable that he will later take part in the Hauraki bv-election campaign.
'Mr Oscar W.- "B. Anderson, who has been secretary of the North Canterburv Flour Milling Company since its inception, has been appointed a director.
Mr R. Kerr, who occupied the Mayoral chair for four months, and who was elected Deputy-Mayor two years ago, was re-elected to that position by the Borough Council last evening.
The Hon. W. B. Tavener left Wellington last night to pay a visit of inspection to the Waitaki hydro-elec-tric works, ,He was accompanied by the Chief Electrical Engineer the Public Works Department, Mr F. T. M. Kissel.
Mr A. T. Donnelly left for Wellington last evening, trie join the Mauiiganui. Ho is oni his way to England', via the United States. Many friends assembled at the Christchurch railway station to bid him farewell and wish him a pleasant journey.
