THE ASHBURTON ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING HELD. The annual meeting of the Ashburton Returned Soldiers’ Association was held last evening, when the piesident (Mr E. H. On) presided over a tanattendance. , , ~ i .. The report stated that the membeiship was not as large as it should be, but there was an increase of 12 tor last year. Anzac Day had been veiy successful. The thanks of tuq: Association were due to all who had assisted in any wav, especially the ladies, who had been responsible for the Poppy Dav collection. . .. The balance-sheet showed that the year commenced with a credit balance of £lB6 Is Bd, and concluded with a credit of £192 14s lid. _ The following officers were elected:— President, Colonel J. Findlay; vicepresident, Mr E. H. Orr: secretary, Mr F A Hickman; committee. Messrs L. S. Hopkins. A. B. Simpson, W. Patching, R. Bain and W. Crawford.
