SIR OTTO NIEMEYER’S OPINION.

DIFFICULTIES IN AUSTRALIA

(United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) SUVA, November 21.

Sir Otto Niemeyer, interviewed here by the “Fiji Times,” said: “At the present time I am afraid there is nothing very hopeful to he said concerning Australia. Reconstruction is not a matter of a few months. It will be a long business, and hard) work and strict economy will be necessary.”

Sir Otto Niemeyer was optimistic concerning New Zealand’s future, stating: “Given sanity and steadiness* I think New Zealand will lie quite all right. There is nothing wrong with that country.”

DUMPING CONDEMNED

MR LLOYD GEORGE’S VIEWS. (United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, November 19. In the House of Commons, during the debate on the present position of British agriculture, Mr Lloyd George (the Liberal Leader), was unsparing in his condemnation of dumping. He said! it was not only a question of plums, currants, and fruits, hut also wheat. ' “I am against dumping. Free trade must not be expected! ;to carry that monster on its back. If the treaties permit unfair dumping, it is time they were revised.” Several speakers emphasised the desirability • of including agricultural workers within the unemployment insurance scheme. Miss Margaret Bondfield, on behalf of the Government, approved of this.
